Matthew V. Blackwell grew up in Fairfield and Monroe, Connecticut, in a close-knit family as the oldest of four siblings. Raised by parents who valued education and entrepreneurship—his father a Harvard MBA and longtime business professional, and his mother a chemist who founded the nationally recognized natural foods brand Aurora Products—Matthew developed an early appreciation for both analytical thinking and disciplined execution.
A high-honors graduate of high school, Matthew balanced academics with music and competitive rowing, experiences that shaped his work ethic and resilience. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Union College, graduating Cum Laude in 2003. He began his professional career at ACNielsen BASES, where he built a strong foundation in data modeling, product testing, and consumer insights, reinforcing the importance of evidence-based decision-making.
In 2005, Matthew joined Aurora Products, advancing over more than a decade from Assistant to the General Manager to Vice President of Operations. In 2016, he stepped into entrepreneurship, founding CyclElectric, an electric bike company focused on conversion kits and pre-built bikes. He later served as Director of Operations at Industrial Flow Solutions, guiding operations through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2023, operating from Woodbridge, Connecticut, Matthew returned to entrepreneurship with renewed clarity, launching Woodbridge Farms and SeaSide Properties. His non-linear career reflects leadership forged in real conditions—adapting to change, rebuilding when necessary, and staying committed to long-term growth.
